The Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ (CDFA™) is offered through the Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts. A CDFA™ professional is a financial professional with specialized training in collecting and analyzing data and providing expertise on the financial issues of divorce. A CDFA™ professional can assist a client and his or her attorney in evaluating the effects of any given settlement and in understanding how decisions made today can impact the client’s financial future.
The Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ (CDFA™) designation requires two years of financial services industry experience, the completion of a self-study course, and computer-based examination. Every two years, designation holders must complete 20 hours of continuing education and pay requisite fees to retain the CDFA™ designation.
